Not one but two of our North Star Circuit units advanced to finals at the 2011 WGI World Championships in April.
Hundreds of color guards from around the country and world gather annually for the WGI World Championships competition in Dayton, OH. In the rare event that an NSC unit advances all the way to the finals round brings great excitement and pride but when two make it in the same year, that's just down right joy.
Both Irondale High School (SA) and MBI Winter Guard (IO) advanced to finals in their respective classes. Irondale, no stranger to finals competition, having won the Scholastic Open class in 2002 had not advanced to finals competition since 2003. MBI on the other hand, was not only competing for their very first time at WGI but also competing in a newly promoted class. Additionally, Eclipse Independent advanced to semi-finals in Independent A. The hard work of all three groups paid off. Congratulations!
